Damien: Omen II is a 1978 American supernatural horror film directed by Don Taylor, starring William Holden, Lee Grant, and Jonathan Scott-Taylor. Archaeologist Carl Bugenhagen tries to convince his colleague, Michael, that young Damien Thorn is the Antichrist and must be killed; the boy’s parents, Robert and Katherine Thorn, have recently died under mysterious conditions. To prove his point, Carl takes Michael to see Yigael’s Wall, which features drawings of Lucifer’s son, but the site caves in on Carl and Michael, killing both. Seven years later, Damien resides in Chicago, Illinois, with his uncle and aunt, Richard and Ann Thorn, and his cousin, Mark. After Damien and Mark return to military school, their great-aunt Marion, owner of the family business, Thorn Industries, threatens to leave her inheritance to charity if Richard does not intervene in the friendship between his son, Mark, and Damien. Richard and Ann dismiss the old woman’s rant against Damien, chalking it up to senility. Later, Charles Warren, curator of the Thorn Museum, shows Richard and Ann photographs of the ancient artifacts the museum recently acquired.

Richard (William Holden) and Ann Thorn (Lee Grant) have taken their 13-year-old nephew, Damien (Jonathan Scott-Taylor), into their Chicago home following the death of Richard's brother seven years earlier. The Thorns love the child, whom they are sending to military school, but not everyone is so sanguine about his presence. Soon after Great Aunt Marion (Sylvia Sidney) expresses concerns about the boy, she dies suddenly and unexpectedly. And she is certainly not the last.

De Omen-horrorreeks is typisch zo'n reeks die per aflevering in kwaliteit afneemt. The omen is indrukwekkend, Damien: Omen II gaat nog wel, Omen 3 is vervelend en hoewel Omen 3 ook wel Final conflict heet werden we in 1991 nog getrakteerd op een zielig vierde deel. In Damien: Omen II bereikt het demonische jochie Damien (Scott-Taylor) de puberleeftijd. Aanvankelijk beseft hij niet dat hij van duivelse afkomst is, maar nadat allerlei volk om hem heen sneuvelt en hij duistere instructies ontvangt van sergeant Neff (Henriksen), gaat de tiener voor werelddominantie. Jerry Goldsmith, die met The omen een Oscar won, verzorgde weer de muziek.
